Din pacate pentru Romania, inca avem astfel de doctori in pozitii de conducere, ramasi in urma, retrograzi, care nu sunt la curent cu cercetarea stiintifica, si care fac afirmatii din burta. In Romania din pacate, discromatopsiile sunt INCA incompatibile cu calitatea de sofer amator. Tin sa ii mentionez doamnei doctor ca dreptul de a conduce un autovehicul, este un drept FUNDAMENTAL. Lucrarile stiintifice arata ca intre 8 si 12% dintre barbati au o forma sau alta de tulburare de vedere legata de perceptia culorii. A spune cu non-salanta ca acesti oameni nu au dreptul sa conduca un autovehicul, este o condamnare la imobilitate pentru ei, si o discriminare de proportii. In tarile dezvoltate, unde s-au efectuat studii stiintifice solide, s-a demonstrat fara drept de apel ca discromatii nu constituie un pericol sporit pentru circulatia publica, dimpotriva, ei sunt implicati chiar in mai mica masura la accidente de circulatie, luandu-si masuri suplimentare de siguranta in trafic. In plus, identificare vizuala a obiectelor, doamna doctor ar trebui sa stie, nu se face numai dupa perceptia elementului de crominanta, ci si dupa lumininozitate, pozitie, forma, context. In timpul bombardamentelor aeriene din cel de-al doilea razboi mondial, pentru identificarea tintelor camuflate la sol, se foloseau persoane cu diverse forme de discromatopsie, pentru ca s-a constatat faptul ca in incercarea de a determina forme si obiecte, ei foloseau perceptual mai putin componenta de culoare din spectru, pe cat contrastul si luminozitatea, ne-fiind astfel "pacaliti" de camuflajele artificiale bazate pe culoare. S-a constatat de asemenea ca discromatii folosesc alte elemente de ghidaj atunci cand au dificultati in a determina culoarea semaforului, cum ar fi pozitia lampii aprinse. Din acest motiv pozitiile lampilor rosu, galben, verde sunt standardizate in Uniunea Europeana. Experienta "personala" a doamnei doctor, desi anecdotica, nu are absolut nici o relevanta, si nu se constituie intr-o proba relevanta din punct de vedere stiintific.
Capacitatea de a conduce un autovehicul poate inseamna diferenta intre a fi apt de munca si a fi somer, intre a fi mobil si a fi "sechestrat", intre a fi 100% functional, si a fi handicapat. De aceea dreptul de a conduce, dreptul de a obtine acest amarat carnet categoria "B", in tarile "normale" nu poate fi grevat de imposibilitatea de a vedea culori. Nici macar de daltonism, sau asa zisul "total color blindness". Discromat fiind, ti se poate interzice sa devii controlor de trafic aerian, pilot de avion, politist, sofer de autobuz sau chiar sofer profesionist, in tarile dezvoltate in UE sau SUA/Canada. Nu ti se poate interzice insa sa conduci ca sofer amator. Intrebati un american sau un european cum ar putea sa-si traiasca viata fara masina si v-ar spune ca ar fi ca si cum ar trai viata intr-un carucior cu rotile.
Iar faptul ca nu exista "solutii" pentru aceasta problema, sau ca este ne-tratabila este incomplet daca nu complet fals. Compania "Cantor & Nissel" (http://www.dyslexia-help.co.uk/) are de ceva timp un produs care se numeste Chromagen, care se bazeaza pe o lentila colorata, care produce un "shift", o modificare in spectru, dinspre culori greu perceptibile sau greu diferentiabile, inspre culori mai usor de diferentiat, si este util in special discromatilor cu deficienta de rosu-verde.
Din pacate in Romania, nu exista o voce care sa apere drepturile oamenilor cu astfel de deficiente, si care sa lupte pentru modificarea legislatiei care ii afecteaza. Rog redactorul acestui reportaj sa transmita aceste opinii mai departe doamnei doctor, si pe cei interesati sa faca front comun in spiritul ideilor enumerate mai sus, sau pe cei pur si simplu afectati de aceasta problema sa scrie un email la

Pentru comportamentul discriminator al comisiilor medicale(spaga si e ok!) din Romania ,comparativ cu ce se cere la controlul oftalmologic ,dincolo de granita de vest,trebuie organizat macar pe web ceva gen ,..."Armaghedon" cu tema "Discromatopsia si drepturile omului in Romania";Cat priveste speranta ,ca cineva din sistemul(medical)actual va upgrada legislativul cu cel din vest va dura suficient de mult deoarece la noi pentru orice problema ivita se infiinteaza o comisie care de regula complica lucrurile.Tot din exterior probabil va trebui intervenit ,impus,etc.fiindca altfel nu inteleg cum un discromat din Ungaria(de ex.) circula nestingherit pe teritoriul romanesc(conduce un autovehicol) fara a fi considerat pericol public ,iar acelasi discromat dar de nationalitate romana pe acelasi teritoriu este rapid blamat ,si constrans sa stea pe dreapta la propriu si declarat inapt medical.
Sper ca mail-lul este valid(este prezentat la editia electronica a ziarului "Gindul"din 21mai 2005 ca replica la articolul "Barbatii nu vad intotdeauna viata in culori) iar culorile sperantei sa existe si pentru noi, macar la nivel de comunicare.

Felicitari pentru atitudinea manifestata si bine documentata ca reply la articolul publicat in 25 mai ,in "Gindul";pacat ca nu exista intradevar unitate ,organizare si reprezentativitate pentru aceste categorii de "pacienti".
Numai cand esti direct implicat ,poti nuanta concret un eveniment asa ca din punctul meu de vedere ,trebuie neaparat constituit un for care sa militeze pentru cetatenii romani cu astfel de probleme.
Doresc sa comunicam, pentru a-mi aplana in cazul meu din suferinta provocata de ridicarea permisului de conducere(B).Mentionez ca am condus timp de aproximativ 8 ani fara a fi implicat in accidente de circulatie.Ca informatie certa,stiu ca in Ungaria nu exista restrictii si catalogare ca inapt,a unui cetatean cu probleme mai mici sau mai mari de discromatie.Fiecare caz personal poate constitui o drama la propriu pentru cel frustat,iar cele traite ca suferinta, cu greu pot fi redate la adevarata lor intensitate.

As dori, daca se poate, sa aflu si eu odata pentru totdeauna daca discromatii
pot avea permis de conducere sau nu?
Exista vreo diferentiere in sensul ca discromatii pot fi numai soferi amatori
si nu profesionisti (d.p.d.v legal).
Eu sunt discromat si la preschimbarea permisului auto am fost respins de catre
un oftalmolog, care a fost foarte vehement spunandu-mi ca legea nu-i permite
sa-mi dea acordul(eu voiam doar o amarata de categorie B). Mergand la un alt
medic mi s-a spus ca nu e nici o problema daca e doar pt categoria B, ar fi
fost mai complicat pt profesionist(categ. C, E).
V-as fi recunoscator daca m-ati putea lamuri in mod argumentat.

P.S. In ordinul 350 din 12/04/2003al M.S.F discromatopsia nu e trecuta printre
afectiunile incompatibile cu conducerea auto.Chiar suntem la mana
oftalmologilor? Pot ei sa interpreteze legea cum vor?

m-am bucurat mult sa citesc opinia dvs, eu fiind autorul replicii
semnata g. timisoreanul. Felicitari si multumesc pentru informatii!

As dori sa ramanem in legatura in aceasta chestiune, cu care am avut
ceva batai de cap. La 18 ani, cand m-am inscris la scoala de soferi
amatori, (au trecut peste 20 de ani de atunci...), am avut parte de
o doctorita precum cea de mai sus. Desi am recunoscut formele din
blestemata aia de carte aproape pana la final, si forma mea de d.
e usoara, pana la acel moment nefiind constient de nici un fel de
problema (!), d-na doctor mi-a trantit un "inapt". Am revenit la alt doctor
care a avut intelegere, ii multumesc. De atunci n-am avut probleme,
doar ca intram in panica de fiecare data cand trebuia sa-mi pun parafa
si cautam cunostinte (pentru o rezolvare in stil "romanesc").
Odata mi-am pierdut carnetul, era sa iasa prost. Tot timpul am avut senzatia ca
medicii oculisti nu stiu si nici nu se straduiesc sa afle cum vad eu de fapt.
Nu ma simt in nici un fel handicapat, mai mult, am senzatia ca mai ales
noaptea am chiar un plus de vedere fata de altii, n-am dovada doar
repetate indicii din partea pasagerului din dreapta.

Mi-as dori sa ma duc cu fruntea sus la examenul de ochi si nu ca
unul care are ceva de ascuns,
